Book of James – Bible Study

Together, we will journey through the book of James and uncover what it has to teach us as a people of faithful action. This Bible study will utilize â€‹Max Lucado's study resource, which can be purchased HERE.

​Grief Encouragement – Support Group

Start date: Sept 3, 2025

When: Wednesday nights, 6:30 - 8:00pm

Leader: Karen Gray

Where: Parlor (Room 130)

Length of class: 8 weeks

When someone you love dies, it can be hard to understand your often complex and painful thoughts and feelings.  "Understanding Your Grief", by Alan D. Wolfelt, is the guide we will use as it describes ten touchstones that are essential physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual actions to help yourself heal.​

Continuing Conversations – Sermon discussions 

When: Mondays 6:45 - 7:45pm

Leaders: Merrianne Myers-Zietlow and Pastors Josh & Daniel

Where: Room 101 or Zoom

Length: Sept 8 through Nov 3

Gatherings will focus on the previous Sunday sermon as we connect & grow in our faith together whether in-person or online! 

 

Women of Grace – Book Study 

When: Tuesday mornings at 10am

CPR/AED Training and Certifications - Health & Wellness Ministry

Blood Pressure Screenings - Health & Wellness Ministry

Walking Group - Health & Wellness Ministry 

When: Every Tuesday morning, 8:30am

Where: Rosedale dog park parking lot (9519 Rosewood Meadow Ln, Huntersville, NC 28078) to walk the Rosedale greenway.

Guy's Breakfast 

When: Second Tuesday of each month, 7:30 - 8:30am

Where: Maple Street Biscuit Company near Concord Mills (8921 Christenbury Pkwy, Concord, NC 28027)

Any guy interested in connecting with other guys to grow in their faith are invited to join us at 7:30am at Maple Street Biscuit Company. We will meet for about 1 hour with good conversation over a delicious breakfast! See you there!

Stay & Play – Sunday Morning Play Group

When: Sunday mornings following the 9:45am worship service

Where:  Lower playground area

We will connect on the playground behind the church as a group with our kids.  Come enjoy time together as we watch our kids play and get to know other parents and friends.  Questions?  Contact Erin Babbitt 

 

Thursday KnitWits+

When: Most Thursdays at 12pm

Where: Basement

This is a wonderful opportunity to include all handiwork; knitting, crochet, quilting, needlepoint, cross-stitch, sewing...you get the idea! If you can bring it, you can craft it! So come and join us, even invite a friend, as we have a time of devotion and fellowship! Contact Tina for more info!

Chapter Chasers – Assurance’s Book Club 

Chapter Chasers is a book club for Assurance’s members and guests. The club meets every third or fourth Saturday morning of each month (depending on the preference of the host). For more information about Chapter Chasers, please contact Sandra Ellis 

 

G.I.R.L.S.Women’s Small Group

When: 6:30pm on the 2nd Monday of each month

Location: Meeting locations rotate each month

The women of this small group pour themselves into their group name, G.I.R.L.S., which stands for Girls In Real Life Service. We would love for you to join us! For more information, please contact Sherry Webb

Chancel Choir and Orchestra 

Description: A wonderful group of people who come together to share their gifts of music with Assurance. The choir practices every Wednesday at 7pm, while the orchestra practices once a month on the first Thursday at 7pm. The choir and orchestra perform during the 11:15am Traditional worship experience (and some special services throughout the year). â€‹Interested?? We would love to have you!! Sharing Garden

Location: Beside ASSURANCE in the field connected to the gravel parking lot.

This garden, sown and tended with love, yields an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruit that is shared with those in need in our community. We could use your help!! For more information, please email Eleanora Miller

ONE Huntington Green - Housing Rehab Team  

We go into the Huntington Green Community to serve families by helping repair and refresh their homes. Our work can include anything from painting and landscaping to small repairs, general fix-up projects, and even skilled trade work such as carpentry, masonry, or basic plumbing and electrical. Whether you’re handy with tools, skilled in a trade, love to paint, or simply have a willing heart to serve, there’s a place for you on this team! Prayer Ministry Team – Prayer Group

Matthew’s Community Closet

Where: Thrift UMC

Matthew’s Community Closet connects with new mothers in need and provides baby bundles as well as other things like Pack-n-plays, bassinets, crib mattresses, and car seats. MCC is also a clothing resource for individuals and families in our community. If interested in serving or helping, please contact Lynn Brittain
