The Pursuit of God – Young Adult Book Study 

Start date: September 16th, 2026

When: Wednesday evenings, 6:30-7:30pm

Length: 13 weeks

Young adults ages 20–30ish are invited to join this 13week book study! We’ll meet Wednesdays from 6:30–7:30pm at Panera Bread across from Concord Mills. This group will be a place to connect, grow together, and celebrate life…even when it’s hard.

Leading Loving and Living – Book Study 

Start date: September 9th, 2026

When: Wednesday mornings, 10 - 11:30am

Leaders: Bruce Barkley

Where: Room 101 or Zoom

All are welcomed to a Bible-based study. Join us in Room 101 or from wherever you are via the Zoom link provided above! We will study Leading Loving and Living by Pastor Josh Kurtz and his father, Rev. Dr. Michael Kurtz, beginning with Chapter 1. Book can be found HERE

Continuing the Conversation – Message Series Study  

When: Mondays at 6:45pm beginning 9/14

Understanding Grief – Grief Encouragement & Support  

When: Wednesdays 6:30 - 8pm beginning September 30th

Length: 8weeks, through November 18th

Cost: None (Books will be provided for you at first meeting)

Wolfelt, is the guide we will use as it describes ten touchstones that are essential physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual actions to help yourself heal.

CPR/AED Training and Certifications - Health & Wellness Ministry

Blood Pressure Screenings - Health & Wellness Ministry

Walking Group - Health & Wellness Ministry 

When: Every Tuesday morning, 8:30am

Where: Rosedale dog park parking lot (9519 Rosewood Meadow Ln, Huntersville, NC) to walk the Rosedale greenway.

Trail Fellowship Hiking Group - Health & Wellness Ministry 

When: Every Thursday evening, 5:30pm

Where: Trailhead @ Quest (Latta Nature Preserve, 6345 Sample Rd, Huntersville, NC)

Looking for a great way to connect with others, enjoy God's creation, and get in some exercise? Then come out and join ASSURANCE Trail Fellowship! Walking begins promptly at 5:30 PM, so please arrive a few minutes early. Each hike is at least 6 miles on uneven dirt trails. Contact Karin for more info!

Grit + Grace Tuesdays at the Table – Women's Ministry

When: 4th Tuesday of each month, 6:30pm

Bring a potluck dish to share! No need to sign up, just show up! You're invited to join us at the table...the dinner table, the games table, the crafts table, the service table. You are warmly welcomed and we hope you'll extend this invitation to a friend as well. Iron & Ember

Any guy 18 or older is invited to come for food and fellowship. Need grilling tips? Have tips to share? Bring your own choice of meat to throw on the fire or one of the grills! 

Postpartum Support Group

When: First Wednesday of each month, 6pm

Where: The Basement

Motherhood can be beautiful, exhausting, joyful, and overwhelming…ALL at the same time! Come out the first Wednesday of each month at 6pm and meet other postpartum moms who understand exactly what you’re experiencing. Whether you’re celebrating milestones, navigating challenges, or simply looking for community, this casual and supportive gathering offers a space to connect, share, encourage one another, and discuss the unique realities of life after a new baby. 

 

*Childcare is available, but you MUST register in advance.

Stay & Play – Sunday Morning Play Group

When: Sunday mornings following the 9:45am worship service

Where:  Lower playground area

We will connect on the playground behind the church as a group with our kids.  Come enjoy time together as we watch our kids play and get to know other parents and friends.  Questions?  Contact Erin Babbitt 

 

Thursday KnitWits+

When: Most Thursdays at 12pm

Where: Basement

This is a wonderful opportunity to include all handiwork; knitting, crochet, quilting, needlepoint, cross-stitch, sewing...you get the idea! If you can bring it, you can craft it! So come and join us, even invite a friend, as we have a time of devotion and fellowship! Contact Tina for more info! 

Chapter Chasers – Assurance’s Book Club 

Chapter Chasers is a book club for Assurance’s members and guests. The club meets every third or fourth Saturday morning of each month (depending on the preference of the host). For more information about Chapter Chasers, please contact Sandra Ellis 

 

G.I.R.L.S.Women’s Small Group

When: 6:30pm on the 2nd Monday of each month

Location: Gathering Place (Welcome Center extension)

The women of this small group pour themselves into their group name, G.I.R.L.S., which stands for Girls In Real Life Service. We would love for you to join us! For more information, please contact Sherry Webb 

Chancel Choir and Orchestra 

Description: A wonderful group of people who come together to share their gifts of music with Assurance. The choir practices every Wednesday at 7pm, while the orchestra practices once a month on the first Thursday at 7pm. The choir and orchestra perform during the 11:15am Traditional worship experience (and some special services throughout the year). ​Interested?? We would love to have you!! Sharing Garden

Location: Beside ASSURANCE in the field connected to the gravel parking lot.

This garden, sown and tended with love, yields an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruit that is shared with those in need in our community. We could use your help!! For more information, please email Eleanora Miller

ONE Huntington Green - Housing Rehab Team  

We go into the Huntington Green Community to serve families by helping repair and refresh their homes. Our work can include anything from painting and landscaping to small repairs, general fix-up projects, and even skilled trade work such as carpentry, masonry, or basic plumbing and electrical. Whether you’re handy with tools, skilled in a trade, love to paint, or simply have a willing heart to serve, there’s a place for you on this team! Prayer Ministry Team – Prayer Group

The Assurance Prayer Team has come together to lift up those who may be in need of a little extra prayer. If you are interested in receiving a prayer list via email each week. Email Linda Vivona or contact her at 727-772-7155 with any questions.

Matthew’s Community Closet

Where: Thrift UMC

Matthew’s Community Closet connects with new mothers in need and provides baby bundles as well as other things like Pack-n-plays, bassinets, crib mattresses, and car seats. MCC is also a clothing resource for individuals and families in our community. If interested in serving or helping, please contact Lynn Brittain
