Our Vision
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
Matthew 25:35-40
Why?
According to research conducted by sociologists Deyoung, Emerson, Yancey, and Kim, only 2.5% of Protestant churches can be considered “diverse.” Old models of homogenous church are becoming less and less reflective of the communities in which they are located, causing a gap between the very people they are called to serve. Assurance’s Connections Campus seeks to cross this divide by intentionally building an infrastructure that invites the diversity of God’s splendor. It is our intent to be a multi-ethnic, economically diverse, cross-generational community of faith that seeks to know God and make Him known through the pursuit of unity.
How?
Connections is the missional campus of the Assurance Faith Community where Assurance commits to living out its mission even beyond the Northlake community, by returning to the community in West Charlotte that we left over 16 years ago. We are sent as disciples to a community, not as members of a church. We seek to practice relational discipleship where every individual is of value and healthy relationships are fostered with ALL people. We intend to build relationships with other churches in our community in order to maximize the Kingdom’s impact.
