Reflection Questions

1.    David had a lot of nerve. What do you think the difference is between having a healthy nerve and having a blinded arrogance in the face of your giants?

2.    In what areas of your life do you need to show more nerve (boldness, courage, etc.)? In what areas of your life do you need to show less arrogance?

3.    A lot of David’s nerve came from his training. What words would you use to describe where you are in your spiritual training?

4.    David not only had a lot of nerve, he also had a very positive outlook on how his battle would end. Why is a positive approach so important to achieving victory over your giants?

Digging Deeper

Read the Apostle Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians in Ephesians 3:14-21. However, as you read it, do so as an actual prayer. Read it as if you are reading the prayer as your own to God for the first time. Then reflect on this passage and how we all are able to achieve so much more through the love and grace of God than when we try to go it alone.
