1. Read Colossians 1:18. We read that Jesus is the “head of the body, the church”. In what ways does this affect how we perceive the church?
2. When Paul writes about Jesus being the head of the church, is he referring to the universal church, a local congregation or both?
3. If we believe that Jesus is the head of the church, how then should that affect how we function as the church?
4. In what ways does church today represent Jesus, the head of the body? Are we representing well?
As we look at Colossians 1:18, we read that Christ is “firstborn among the dead”. We know that others were raised from dead to life before him, so what was different/significant about the resurrection of Christ?
