John 13:3-9, 12-17; Ecclesiastes 2:3-11

 Reflection Questions

1.    Read Ecclesiastes 2:3-11: How do Solomon’s words show us the danger of putting our hope in the promises of the world? Why is the pursuit of happiness through strictly “worldly” means problematic and empty?

2.    Read John 13:3-9; 12-17: Reflecting upon both this passage and the Ecclesiastes passage, how does Jesus show us that living beyond ourselves is the way to true blessings? What is the difference between a temporal and a spiritual blessing? Which one gives true fulfillment and ultimate meaning?

3.    Read Titus 3:14: The title of the sermon was “The Time Is Now.” Why is “now” always the right time to do what is right and good? How can that translate into serving in the local church?
