Reflection Questions

1.    Why does pain and suffering so often cause people to doubt God’s goodness (or even God’s very existence)?

2.    When life is hard, is it difficult or easy (or somewhere in between) for you to live with a “faith first” outlook on life?

3.    In Romans 8, Paul covers a lot of territory. What about his words in this chapter give us hope in the midst of hardship? What do his words tell us about God’s promises in the midst of so much uncertainty?

4.    There is a popular saying that “God’s delays are not God’s denials.” Does this statement help you in the midst of suffering and pain? Or is it incomplete? Why?
