1. In the movie Forrest Gump, Forrest himself says that he isn’t sure if “we all have a destiny, or if we are all floating around accidental like on a breeze.” He then wonders if both are happening at the same time. What do you think of his statement? And reflecting upon last week, how does this relate to the discussion on the problems that can arise by telling someone that “everything happens for a reason” in the midst of their extreme hardship?
2. Read Mark 9:17-24: Have you ever felt like the father in the story? If so, have you ever asked God to help you overcome your “unbelief”?
3. When you are just not “feeling it” faith wise in your relationship with God, think of some ways that you can practically act on whatever faith you might have – how little that might be in that moment. How can these simple acts of faith help you in the midst of your struggles with doubt?

Reflect upon the passage of Scripture and the cinematic interpretation from the movie Son of God. Then think of the times where you were metaphorically “walking on water” and you allowed the distractions of life to sink you. Also, reflect upon the times that Jesus reached down and pulled you out of the water as you were sinking.
