Reflection Questions:

  1. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”  How has your relationship with Christ given you fulfillment and sustenance?
  2. In a metaphorical sense, there are many things in this world for which we hunger and thirst.  For what do you hunger and thirst?  How does your relationship with Christ speak to these longings?
  3. In Luke’s account of the feeding the five thousand, Jesus tells the disciples, “You give them something to eat” (Luke 9:13).  How is God calling you to participate in building up His Kingdom?  Consider one thing you can do this week to respond to a need around you.

Digging Deeper:  The season of Lent is a time of reflection, examination, and preparation for Easter.  It is often a time that we “give up” a behavior, attitude, habit, etc. that prevents us from drawing closer to God and/or a time that we “take on” a behavior, discipline, etc. that helps us to grow in God’s love.  In this season, is there something that you feel led by the Spirit to “give up” or “take on” for the sake of growing in your faith?
